The wonders of God’s creation,pearls
Pearls are a defense device used
by some mollusks, and they are considered one of the most valuable jewelry in humans.
From where to extract pearls
Pearls are extracted from the epithelial layer between the oyster shell and its body - that is, in the fleshy fold or in a lobe or lobes in the wall lining the oyster -.
How is pearl formed
Pearls consist of substances that are excreted by a fleshy organ from the oyster's body called the mantle, or robe.
The pearl consists of layers of argonite and crystallized calcium carbonate - cassette - the same nacre material on the inner side of the lustrous oyster shell.
These layers hold, or hold together, a cartilage-like substance called kinkeolin.
Why do oysters make pearls?
When a parasite enters the body of an oyster, the coat cells begin to secrete the mother-of-pearl to surround that parasite with that miraculous crystalline substance in a shape similar to layers of an onion.
